New Publications and Resources
- Prevalence of lead poisoning among artisanal gold miners in French Guiana in 2022: a multicenter cross-sectional observational survey. Doune et al. BMC Public Health. Finds 45% of 500 workers have BLL above 10µg/dL. The factors associated with high BLL suggest environmental contamination. 
- Lead exposure in Bihar, Eastern India: a risk assessment study. Chayal et al. Environmental Geochemistry and Health. Finds 94% of 242 mothers have BLL above 5µg/dL. 
- Exposure to lead: a major public health concern: preventing disease through healthy environments. World Health Organization. Updates global burden-of-disease data, attributing 1.5 million deaths and 33 million DALYs to lead exposure in 2021, and provides policy and clinical guidance to eliminate exposure sources.
